Al-Nassr vs Al-Raed Prediction, Lineup and Match info
First round of the Saudi Pro League kick starts with a face off between Al-Nassr vs Al-Raed August 22, 2024
The Saudi Pro League season for Al Nassr, the runners-up of the previous season, begins on Thursday, August 22, at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh with a home game versus Al Raed scheduled to begin at 20:00 CET.
Al Nassr stats
Al Nassr, captained by Portuguese sensation Cristiano Ronaldo, will be looking to bounce back from their August 17 Saudi Super Cup final defeat to Al Hilal. In the Saudi Pro League last season, Al-Nassr dropped points just eight times—four times in draws and four times in losses.
The team, which included Cristiano Ronaldo, finished with 82 points, but not enough to win the league because Al-Hilal continued to be untouchable with 96 points. Al-Nassr’s most notable summer addition was a goalkeeper, when they paid €18 million to get Brazilian international Bento from Athletico Paranaense.
Al Raed stats
Al-Raed is among the Saudi Pro League’s less well-funded teams. They spent the whole of the previous season fighting to avoid relegation, and they ultimately placed 12th, five points above the relegation zone. Their survival was secured in the latter rounds with a critical run of four wins without a loss.
Al-Raed was not particularly active in the transfer market, similar to Al-Nassr. During the transfer window, they bought just two players, left-back Zakaria Hawsawi and winger Saleh Al-Amri, both of whom were misfits from Al-Ittihad. Over the summer, they named Brazilian coach Odair Hellmann as their new manager.
Al-Nassr vs Al-Raed Lineups
Al-Nassr has a complete roster of players to select from. After completing his sentence, Marcelo Brozovic is back on the team, and Brazilian forward Anderson Talisca, who missed the last part of the season because of a thigh injury, participated in the team’s preseason camp.
Al Nassr predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Bento (GK) — Al Ghanam, Alawjami, Laporte, Telles — Al-Khaibari, Otavio — Yahya, Talisca, Mane — Ronaldo
Saleh Al-Amri, who was signed by Al Raed on loan from Al Ittihad, may make his team debut at any point during the game.
Zakaria Hawsawi, a recent addition to the team, will not play for the visitors due to a May-related knee injury.
Al Raed predicted XI (4-3-3 right to left): Sunyur (GK) — Al Dossary, Gonzalez, Al Dosari, Al-Jayzani — Fouzair, Hazazi, Normann — Sayoud, El Berkaoui, Al-Ghamdi
Al-Nassr vs Al-Raed Prediction
Two very distinct teams are playing against each other in this match. While Sadio Mane and Ronaldo are among the elite players on Al Nassr’s roster, Al Raed is among the League’s more understated teams. It is anticipated that Al-Nassr will triumph and do so with great conviction. I think the home team will score more than two goals.
