Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur: Team news, stream info and updates.
Liverpool host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League as both teams look to finish their 2023-24 season on a high. Kickoff at Anfield is at 15:30 GMT.
In this Sunday’s main match, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, two titans struggling to cross the Premier League finish line, square off at Anfield as they both look to make up for some recent errors.
Liverpool team info: injuries
Four of Liverpool’s injured players—Joel Matip (knee), Ben Doak (knee), Bobby Clark (unspecified), and Thiago Alcantara (muscle)—will not be back on the field before the season ends. The former two may have played their last games for the team. In the pregame press conference on Friday, Klopp revealed Virgil van Dijk, the captain, had not trained. This is a concerning development, as it casts doubt on the Dutchman’s performance.
Conor Bradley, on the other hand, is set to play on Sunday after returning to full training. Diogo Jota’s hip issue could resolve in time for him to return in May, but the Portuguese forward will be too young for Tottenham’s visit. Salah and Klopp got into a verbal spat after the latter was once more left off of the starting lineup at the London Stadium. However, as Klopp is eager to emphasize that there is no animosity between the two, Salah will probably be added back to the starting lineup this time.
Tottenham team info: injuries
Regarding Spurs, Postecoglou reported before the game that Timo Werner (hamstring) and Ben Davies (calf) would miss the remainder of the campaign due to injuries they incurred in the North London derby. However, he did not witness any more players visit the infirmary on Thursday night. The pair are added to the list of long-term ailments, which also includes Fraser Forster (foot), Destiny Udogie (thigh), Manor Solomon (knee), and Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring). Given that Postecoglou attempted five substitutions at Stamford Bridge without success, he shouldn’t be afraid to make a similar number of changes here.
James Maddison was one of the players benched in midweek because to his lack of performance, but the playmaker could be back in the mix for the trip to Anfield, maybe taking Richarlison’s place.
