Niclas Füllkrug precise strike concludes intense game, Champions League Scores: Borussia Dortmond VS PSG (1-0)

Niclas Füllkrug with a staring goal sets his team a step closer to victory in the semi-finals between Dortmond and PSG.

Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain at Signal Iduna Park in their semi-final first leg moved them one step closer to the Champions League final. From the beginning of the game, the home team was in control and had to deal with Jadon Sancho, who posed a serious threat on the right side.

Jadon Sancho’s best game yet

In their 1-0 Champions League semi-final first-leg loss to Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain were left to lament wasted opportunities as a wide forward on the other team dominated proceedings and Kylian Mbappe remained silent. Mbappe, who was all but shut out of the match, was overshadowed by Jadon Sancho, who was having his best game since returning to Dortmund on loan in January. The Parisians now need to overcome an aggregate deficit if they want to salvage a first European Cup before their all-time top scorer leaves this summer.

The game changing goal of the day by Niclas Füllkrug

After 35 minutes, Niklas Fullkrug of Dortmund gave them the lead when he ducked in behind the Paris defense, controlled a lofted pass, and blasted past Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was sprawling. Following the interval, PSG produced additional chances and repeatedly struck the inside of the post, first via Mbappe and then through Achraf Hakimi, before Fabian Ruiz missed the target with the goal open.

In addition, Ousmane Dembele had a couple of chances of his own, missing the net twice from within the area. Dortmund also had their chances, with Fullkrug and Julian Brandt missing out, with the outstanding Sancho acting as their constant source of motivation. Nevertheless, neither team managed to score another goal, leaving the Parisians down ahead of what could be an intriguing second leg.
